I see a lot of people bickering over what they think is the best, and I haven't written a journal entry in a while... so I'll just blabber on what I think regarding the matter.
See, if you scroll down a touch and look at the stamps in my dA ID, you'll notice that I like both PC and Mac, but for different reasons.
Starting with PC: I'm a gamer. I love me a good PC game like I love coffee in the morning. PC gaming has always been my top choice for platforms when it comes to games (with the Xbox 360 being a close second, Nintendo 3DS third, PS3 fourth, etc.). And because so many people own Windows, a vast majority of said games are available for PC. Hell, I even bootcamped Windows 7 onto my 2011 iMac, and I spend a majority of my time on Windows. I like the freedom that comes with Windows, and although it is not as open as Linux, it's still very customizable and more my speed when it comes to knowledge of technology. I don't claim to know a lot, but I am knowledgeable of a good amount, huehue~ Besides, customization is ALWAYS a selling point for me. I love it to death. And Paint Tool SAI is a Windows-exclusive, and I definitely need that pen pressure and stabilizer (which does not, nor will it ever, work on the Mac download).
But I also like Mac for more practical reasons. Reasons that if Windows had, I wouldn't own a Mac at all. Macs have a more stable OS. Hardly EVER do I have issues with wireless devices (like my keyboard and mouse) and my tablet connecting properly. And yes, before you ask further on this, I have the tiny keyboard that came with my iMac and a Logitech wireless mouse, since the dumbass Magic Mouse and its lack of actual buttons drove me batty when trying to play games. I plan on getting a better gaming keyboard eventually~ But anyways, Mac has always been more reliable than Windows, which tends to get touchy every now and then, even with certain programs like Skype... which I use all the time. Never had an issue with Skype for Mac. But being a digital artist and planning on pursuing graphic design in the future... stability and trustworthiness is key.
But I will side farther with Windows on one basis... Why do people get Macbooks for stupid reasons, when PC laptops are typically cheaper? I see Macbooks 99% of the time being used as $2000 Facebook machines. Why the hell would you pay out the ass for something, when all it's going to give you is the rolling of eyes by others when you tell them that you don't use it for anything that would be more Mac-exclusive? You buy the "bragging" rights, I guess. It doesn't make sense.
"Oh, I got a MACBOOK."
ooooohhhh so hardcore.
